Ultrasounds are an imaging test that uses high frequency sound waves that are sent out and reflect off your internal structures to make pictures of your organs, tissues, and other structures. It allows your health care provider to see into your body without surgery. Unlike, with a x-ray or CT scan, ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation. 

Ultrasounds are generally used to diagnose a variation of medical conditions in:

3. Heart

Ultrasound is also used to monitor the health and development of the fetus during pregnancy. During this ultrasound we check:

1. Position

2. Heart rate 

3. Size

4. Weeks of the fetus

5. Multiple fetuses

6. Genetic disorder

7. Birth defects.
